Shah Rukh Khan’s Biography
Shahrukh Khan is the most popular actor at this time of
India who works
in Bollywood films. King Khan, SRK, SRKhan, Badshah of Bollywood, and King of
Romance are some of his nicknames. His smile is his trademark and he has a
height of 5.8″ (1.73m). He was born on the 2nd November, 1965 in
His father’s name was Taj Mohammad Khan who was an Indian freedom fighter.
Lateef Fatima was his mother’s name.
He was brilliant student at St. Columbia’s school. He won
the prestigious annual school award called the ‘Sword of honor’. He was also an
all rounder who was captain of football, hockey and cricket teams at the same
time. He graduated with Economic Honors from
New Delhi from the year 1985 to 1988. Later
he did his masters in Mass Communications from Jamiya Miliya Islamia. Shahrukh
Khan married Gauri Khan on the 25th October, 1991. He has two children, son
Aryan Khan (b. 1997) and daughter Suhana (b. 2000).
He started his career as an actor in several television
serials in the period 1988-1990. In 1991, when he was in Mumbai, Shahrukh made
his debut in Bollywood with the commercially successful Deewana (1992). This
movie was a box office hit. He started to achieve success at the box office
from his negative roles in
Indiafilm industry like Darr (1993), Baazigar (1993), and Anjam (1994). The epic
Dilwale dulhania Le Jayenge (1995) was released on 20th October which became a great commercial and
critical success, Khan has also acted in Bollywood’s biggest movies in both
national and international markets namely Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa (1993), Kuch
Kuch Hota Hai (1998), Khabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham (2001), Devdas (2002), Swades
(2004), Chak De India (2007), Om Shanti Om (2007), My Name is Khan (2010), Ra
One (2011), Don 2 (2012), Thus making him the undisputed mega star of India.
A series of hit films was given in Indian film industry
which is arguably
biggest blockbuster and truly complete with the very best drama, comedy,
romance, thrills and a bit of action as well. Shahrukh is the perfect
combination of 'talent, perseverance, belief in you, a never-give-up-attitude
and of course, a bit of luck'; factors needed for success. His fame never
stopped. Following release of his films overseas he has been credited as the
world's biggest movie star and was named among the 50 most powerful people by
Newsweek. Shahrukh also joined some television shows in recent years. He hosted
‘Kaun Banega Crorepati’ in 2007, a popular game show, which was the Indian
version of ‘Who Wants to Be a Millionaire’. He hosted another game show called,
‘Kya Aap Paanchvi Paas Se Tez Hain’ in 2008.
