Salman: Trying to fly higher
Dressed in jeans and white tee with Being Human inscribed prominently on the back, Salman Khan, who was shooting for Dabaang2 till wee hours of the morning, hopped on the stage to talk about his newest venture.
In what could be a first, Khan has not only become the brand of the online travel/ticketing service, Yatra.com, but also come on board as a shareholder of the brand he is representing., the online travel company that offers a host of travel services.
Without giving any details of Khan’s remuneration or his investments, the CEO and co-founder of Yatra.com Dhruv Shringi, said that the deal will make it possible for customers to contribute a token amount to Khan’s NGO venture, Being Human, every time a transaction takes place on its website and the revenues generated from these sales will go to the NGO.
In return the superstar will be the face of Yatra.com’s new marketing campaign in India and the US.
The first campaign was launched nationwide on the 2nd March with the actor playing the role of Mr. Yatra. The campaign that had Khan sitting in a plush office was in accordance with actor’s flamboyance and sense of humor. Ask him what prompted him to become a shareholder in the company and he retorted, "If we endorse a product we must make sure to use it. Eat it, if we are endorsing food product and wear it if it’s clothing. I believe in the company so I am putting my stake in it. If it does well, my association will help the society, courtesy the tie-up with Being Human,” said the actor.
