Saurabh Bhardwaj and Babiya Vardhan, Winners Of Big Break make their debut on television in a brand new promo of Sony PIX.
A couple of days ago, Saurabh Bhardwaj from Mumbai and Babiya Vardhan from
Saurabh, who pursued a course in marketing, joined a film promotion firm
as a marketing executive so that he could stay connected with films, he got a
chance to work on movies like Wanted,
While he worked nine to six doing a desk job, he also managed to enroll acting lessons at Barry John Acting Studio and Kishore Namit Kapoor’s Acting Institute.
Likewise, Babiya, who worked as an electronic engineer in Infosys. "I always wanted to be independent and struggle on my own to get into showbiz. Therefore, I wanted to be financially sound and not to be dependent on my parents.”
Unlike Saurabh who hopped from one production house to another like
Dharma, Rajshri and several others, in search of a role, and even faced casting
couch scenarios, Babiya was rather relaxed and waited for an opportunity to
come her way. She explains, "Knocking the producer’s door was never on y
agenda. I always went with the flow. I have been patiently waiting for good
opportunities and when I came to know about my Sony PIX’s Big Break, I simply
took it up. Right from my childhood, I had prepared myself to get into films
and for the same, I trained in dancing, both classical and Bollywood dance. I
also attended acting workshops in my school and college. This year, I also
participated in Miss
"I shot 10 different clips and asked my parents and friends to shortlist the best to send it to Sony PIX. I would not be here without their support, they helped me choose the best clip,” expresses Babiya.
With the clips being uploaded by both of them, the two waited calmly for a couple of weeks to get the response.
"Few days later, I got a call and was asked to come for the grand finale. There were 10 finalists who I had to compete with. A couple of them were professionals, who had worked in ads and short films. It was tough to beat them but I guess it was my day and I nailed the auditions,” says an excited Saurabh.
For starters, the channel is set to promote them as fresh faces by casting them in guest appearances on various shows of Sony TV, SAB and MAX. So much for a happy beginning, but will they sustain and become the next big thing in the filmy scene? Let’s wait and watch.
